About Us - RoMMeF
Mrs. Emma Mitchell founded the DR ROBERT MITCHELL MEMORIAL FOUNDATION INC. (RoMMeF) in memory of her beloved son. She had lost Robert (affectionately called Sonny), a young medical doctor in Ohio, USA. After his passing, she felt she had to fulfill Robert’s dream, which was doing something to help children suffering from a life-threatening disease, cancer.
The Dr. Robert Mitchell Memorial Foundation Inc. (RoMMeF), a successor organization to a charitable organization in Ghana, Africa, also founded by Mrs. Mitchell, was established in February 2022. The mission of RoMMeF is to support children with cancer in Ghana through funding, research, and awareness creation.
With its numerous programs and initiatives, RoMMeF in Ghana has raised awareness about cancer, provided financing to help with healthcare costs, created cancer registry centers to diagnose the disease based on evidence, and seeks collaboration with medical institutions to conduct research to save the lives of many children with cancer.
The non-profit organization believes childhood cancer is a devastating disease that we must fight with all our strength. It is committed to providing funding for equipment and medication required to help children with cancer.
The mission of RoMMeF is to save lives by providing high-quality care to every patient regardless of their ability to pay. To support projects and programs in Ghana for managing cancer in general and childhood cancer in particular, we are a non-profit organization looking for financial, material, and human resource aid, collaboration, and partnership to support the health cause.
