About Us

Born to Iranian immigrants, our childhood was filled with watching our parents find ways to keep their connection with the motherland alive.

Not only was our house filled with the aromatic smells of Persian cuisine but with unforgettable memorabilia. Rugs, art, and handmade items were always found around the house.

They made sure we experienced Persian culture as much as we could through the daily tasks of life. Our parents were proud of being Iranian and nostalgic for their beloved culture in every way and they shared those feelings with us through so many memories and teachings.

They passed that pride on to us through trips back home most summers, showing us the meaning and beauty of Persian culture.

Toranj is a way for us to share those feelings and that Persian pride that still exists in us. That sense of community, culture, and connection was recreated in a land far from “home”. We hope that this project brings a slice of comfort to you and yours and empowers you to relate to your roots as we have tried to do through this project.
