Plant engineers and operators typically use paper and clipboards when completing inspections, checklists, calibrations, maintenance work, inventories, etc. With the recent availability of the aegex10 Windows Class 1, Division 1, Zone 1 intrinsically safe tablets, CS2 Inc. has assisted plants with the digital transformation of their paper-based systems to digital form.
Hazardous waste generators are limited to the amount of time containers can be stored based on their classification. Permitted hazardous waste storage area operators have a need to know the quantity and time that waste has been in storage. Many facilities struggle with tracking the age of containers. The hazardous waste storage area inspections and report have been converted to digital form. The completed inspections and reports are automatically uploaded to the facility’s server. Having digital data, this dashboard can provide an overview and graphs for the containers within the hazardous waste container storage area.
Plants are required to conduct daily, weekly, and monthly environmental compliance inspections, including drain inspections. A typical refinery may have over 1,000 drains in the plant. CS2 Inc. converted the inspection forms and reports to digital format and created this dashboard. The inspectors complete the drain inspection forms and reports using an aegex10 Windows Class 1, Division 1, Zone 1 intrinsically safe tablet, which is the required safety standard for working in a refinery with an electronic device. The completed inspections and report are automatically uploaded to the facility’s server.
Plants are required to conduct safety equipment inspections, such as fire extinguisher inspections. The paper-based forms and reports have been converted to digital form. For the inspectors, this dashboard includes a map showing the locations of the fire extinguishers and integrates the inspectors that are assigned to complete the inspections. For supervisors, this dashboard identifies the slow inspectors that may need additional training, and the efficient inspectors that can take on additional responsibilities. This is a perfect example of accountability and the ability to benchmark the inspectors.
Mobile solution support allows CS2 Inc.’s client’s the ability to implement a solution package on the client’s hardware if required. This solution package can be hosted either at a client’s site or corporate server and maintained through a centralized database. The mobile solution support also offers compliance tool training for both the hardware and software. Maintenance contracts are available to update tools as necessary and a rapid response service is offered for the equipment.
