Restoration is the act of reviving or reestablishing something or someone. It includes a return to a former state, original, normal, or unimpaired condition. Renovation occurs in the process of restoration; generally, one thinks of old parts or scuffed surfaces being scrapped, buffed, and resurfaced.

Reconstruction is not effortless, but it is obtainable for both the living and the inanimate objects. There will be pain to obtain restoration, but the finished product will be more than worth it. When reflecting honestly, the things that led to the revival did not feel good or left us warm and fussy. Therefore, the repair will require some grit and fortitude.

Life did provide us with a guarantee at birth that everything would be easy. However, in God’s Word, we are assured that God would never leave or forsake us Hebrews 13:5. We are told that we are enemies come against us that we can run in, and God would be our safe place Psalms 46:1.

God has the capacity to protect and restore us when we are hurt, broken, and weak due to life’s uncertainty. God can restore us, leaving us with nothing missing and nothing broken. Once you recognize the emptiness, bitterness, or abandonment felt within, you can request the Love of God to refresh, restore, and revive every part of your life. Isaiah 26:3-4

Restoration requires recognition of the defect or deficit, something is missing. The joy is gone; I no longer see the possibilities, only the opposition and defeat. Now, I have to realize that I need an intervention. Something has to be done inwardly and outwardly, but I must acknowledge it! I also have to allow and accept that repair is required.

It may be easier to toss a broken table, but if it’s an antique or can be repaired at a lesser cost, then restoration is. Now, that’s an inanimate object; what about us, a living and breathing soul? God has a plan for our lives, and to achieve the preordained outcome, we will go through obstacles and, at times, suffer damage!

The damage should not destroy us but strengthen and allow us to walk in a level of resilience and steadfastness with the help of our Heavenly Father! There is a Love that supersedes anything that we could ever do. In the Word of God, we find reconstruction, refreshing, and renewal that heals the most shattered and broken hearts, spirits, and souls! God takes pleasure in the restoration of those who call upon His name.
