I would like to state that I had a journey before I met Marilise Herron, and others through the Drug Court Program. Currently I support Marlise as she moves into other avenues to help suffering angry individuals and victims of Domestic Violence. .
November 1999, I met Marlise, I was broken, tired and needed rescuing. It was not easy for me listening to another person (woman) say that I needed help, the only way to receive that help was through a program. I struggled during the month of December. Marlise attempt to help me, but I thought I knew how to beat the system, and I must admit. I had no idea how to live without a drug or a drink. But I also did not want 16 months is a state prison.

I have known Ms. Herron for 4+ years and have had the opportunity to glean, learn, and understand the meaning of service. Not only has Ms. Herron been a supervisor for me, she has been a role model, teacher, and guide. I have watched her in the roles of group facilitator, certification trainings, domestic violence classes, DUI classes, case management, and individual counseling. Ms. Herron models professionalism and ethical principles, while treating every client and individual person with dignity and worth. I would refer any person in need to Ms. Herron, as I know they would get the best possible care. There are not enough accolades, awards, and medals to accommodate this woman for the quality and standard of her services.

To whom it may concern My name is Mark Negrete I was arrested in the latter part of the year 2000 and I was facing my second felony drug possession charge and 2 years in the penitentiary or be accepted into a drug outpatient program and incredibly enough after debating that for a half an hour in court I chose the outpatient program, it happened to be AADAP on Martin Luther King boulevard in Los Angeles, honestly I never ventured into these parts of Los Angeles unless I was looking for drugs in my drinking and using days then I found myself having to venture up there 5 sometimes 6 times a week for group sessions and one-on-one counseling sessions and the worst part I thought was being tested consistently and being forced to stay clean and sober the whole time
