Welcome to the Double Doodle Darlings Guardianship Program—a cost-effective opportunity to welcome a quality hybrid designer double doodle into your family. Our small, home-based breeding program prioritizes giving every puppy a loving family.

Realizing the need to enhance the lives of our breeding dogs and grow our business, we’ve introduced the Guardian Home Program. We strive to provide a nurturing environment where our breeding dogs are cherished family members.

As a guardian home participant, you commit to raising, training, and caring for the designated guardian dog throughout their breeding career. Upon joining our program, you’ll receive a pick-of-the-litter puppy at approximately 8 weeks old, with a small security deposit.

While you’ll cover the regular costs associated with caring for your new family pet, Double Doodle Darlings takes responsibility for all reproductive expenses, starting with DNA and genetic testing to be scheduled between 10 and 12 months of age.

In the event your puppy doesn’t meet our health testing requirements, you cover spaying or neutering costs, and we retire the dog from our breeding program, transferring full legal ownership to you at no extra cost.

If your dog does pass the testing it will become a breeding dog for Double Doodle Darlings. If you have a female she will be expected to deliver 3 to 4 litters during her career in our program. She will come to our home during her heat cycle for breeding, and then back home to you. She will remain with you throughout her pregnancy and come back to us for her delivery and the weaning process. After she has completed her contract with 3 to 4 litters we will retire her from the program. After you have her spayed we will sign over full ownership papers to you and return your original deposit.

If you are a guardian home for a male stud, once he has passed his reproductive testing there will be times when natural breeding is required and he will need to come to our home during that process. We will also be working with a local Canine Semen Bank. They will collect the stud semen to be frozen and used at a later date through artificial insemination. We will continue to test the virility of his semen periodically throughout his career. We will use the information derived from these tests to determine when to retire him from the program. At that time you will have him neutered per our agreement and we will sign over full ownership to you and return your original deposit.

Our comprehensive Guardianship Contract outlines the program in more detail. Although we currently do not have immediate openings, we expect to add a couple of guardian homes in SPRING 2024. If you are located in Southern California and are interested in our program
