It has always been my intention or desire to encourage and inspire people. Also, I want to remind those I encounter that they can accomplish their dreams. Inspiration and encouragement are essential in a world filled with despair and pain. So many people face obstacles and opposition that affect their outlook on life.

During my youth, I longed for a life that resembled what I saw on television. Everyone was happy, and the endings were predominantly cheerful. It was hard for me to understand why there were no more “happy endings.” I remember saying I wanted my little utopia where everyone would get along and dreams would come true.

I finally broke free from looking for a wonderland in a world filled with strife, pain, heartache, and opposition. No blinders in my eyes are stopping me from seeing the good; I am just building a case to show that there is a need for encouragement and inspiration in our world today. I have faced various challenges throughout life without encouragement.

Although this did not enable me to overcome the conflict, a kind word would have lessened my sense of isolation and misunderstanding!  As of August 2024, more than 720,00 people die due to suicide every year. It is the third leading cause of death among 15-29 years of age. Statistics state that 73 percent of global suicides occur in low and middle-income countries. (World Health Organization 2024)

These numbers are alarming absolutely, and it is noted that every year, many more people attempt suicide without success. This alone should move others to decide to be an “encourager” to others consciously. Kind words can go a long way; a warm smile softens a heart. Pay it Forward was very popular at one time and may still be occurring; kindness doesn’t cost anything.

Even when my intentions are misinterpreted, I have not allowed that to stop me from reminding someone that they look nice! I have not stopped complimenting and smiling ( now I don’t smile all the time, but when moved within), I definitely will!

When you encourage others, you in the process are encouraged because you’re making a commitment and difference in that person’s life. Encouragement really does make a difference.

Zig Ziglar

We were all designed with a purpose Jeremiah 29:11. God has a plan for us. If we are not careful, the cares or struggles we encounter can cause us to lose focus and miss the plan prepared for us. So often, the curves and detours of life will hinder, alter, and even distract us from achieving the preordained results.

A portion of my purpose is to inspire and encourage others, even those I may never meet in person. Despite the pain you may have experienced, comfort awaits as you choose to let go and forgive. Understand that there is peace amidst conflict as you learn that you are not alone or forsaken, and God desires you to overcome.

I intend to remind you that you were chosen for this time, and your heartache can become the stimulant that leads you to walk in destiny and purpose!

“Your beliefs become your thoughts, your thoughts become your words, your words become your actions, your actions become your habits, your habits become your values, your values become your destiny.”
